"Under
the volcanoes, next to the glaciers, between the great lakes,
the perfume, the silence, the entanglement of the Chilean forest"
this is how the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda described his native
Araucania Region. |
The Huerquehue National Park, 35km from Pucon
is probably what Pablo was describing... With its lagoons, Araucaria
forests, trees at least 10 centuries old, canyons, cascades and
the list goes on... Come and discover this luxuriant nature which
will surely charm any excursion amateur.

forest like one kind of the moderated forests that we can meet in
the south of Chile. Lagoons and cascades bring to that park an amazing
touch. The pathway begins at 700m of altitude, and goes up with
many curves until 1200m high. During the climbing into the forest’s
shadow, points of views on the lake Tinquilco and the volcano Villarrica
will make you dream of amazing beauties, that we’ll reach
following the lagoons… By walking down, we’ll have a
break to admire the cascade feed by the lagoons of altitude.

the local fauna and its dwelling (nesting zone with many ducks etc…).
That first step lasts roughly 45 minutes, including observations’
time. Then, we’ll keep going on with the convey for a few kilometers,
crossing the forest of Araucarias at the base of the volcano Lanin
(the highest of the region) until the beginning of the pathway which
will lead us to the lagoon Huinfiuca. That walk will permit us to
discover the forest of altitude and observe birds like the Magellan’s
